Abstract: A novel, simple, accurate and precise HPLC method for determination albuterol in buffer-ethanol (1:1) system has been developed and validated. The linearity is obeyed over a concentration range of 0.5 -150 µg/ml with correlation coefficient of 0.999 for both the drugs. The proposed method was validated by determining accuracy, precision and stability parameters. The method was found to be robust. Specificity of the method was determined by subjecting the drugs to various stress conditions like acid, alkali, oxidation, thermal and photolytic degradation. The method was used successfully for the simultaneous determination of albuterol in aerosol dosage form.Download PDF

Abstract: Modeling animal growth and production data can be helpful in understanding the pattern of growth and production for different species of animals. Further this can help in evolving strategies to addres s low productivity and augment production as well. Analysis of longitudinal growth data of Madhya Pradesh red sheep using Linear Mixed Effects (LME) model indicates that the conditional quadratic model with heterogeneous AR (1) error covariance structure is good with the covariates, dam’s weight at lambing and gender of lamb showing marked influence on the growth parameters. Season of birth is found to be significant only for growth rate and not for the intercept. Among the ANN models developed for the longitudinal growth data of Madhya Pradesh red sheep, ANN (Artificial Neural Effects) model using Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) architecture is found to perform better when compared to the ANN model based on RBF architecture. Further, when the ANN model based on MLP architecture is compared with the best LME model, it is found that ANN model based on MLP architecture is better than the LME model based on the reliability coefficient concluding that ANN can be considered as an useful alternative modeling technique for longitudinal growth data of Madhya Pradesh red sheep with better predictive ability. Abstract: In present study, modeling poultry egg production has been carried out. Seven nonlinear models are evaluated for fitting the average weekly flock poultry egg production. Among the models considered, c ompartmental model due to McMillan et al., 1970, which is a combination of monomolecular and an exponential function is found to be superior. When ANN models are developed for the same data, it is found that ANN model using RBF architecture is found to be better compared to the ANN model based on MLP architecture and further ANN using RBF architecture is better than the best nonlinear model identified for this data. Abstract: The macrophytic algae Enteromorpha intestinal is, Chaetomorpha linum, Cladophora fascicularis, Gracillariopsis lemaneiformis, Calaglossa clavulatum and Hypnea musciformis were found in the estuarine s tation during the monsoon and postmonsoon seasons only. The increase in this macrophytic green alga suggests that the Azhicode Estuary is under the strain from anthropogenic interference and is undergoing eutrophication. The red algae Gracilariopsislemaneiformis and Centroceros clavulatum occurred around the pneumatophores of Aviccenia officinalis. Disappearance of these species during summer when the salinity was high (>20ppt) attributes to their status as ecological indicators. Download PDF
